Warm Weather to Persist This Week

23 October 2017   Dr. Curtis James
The weather has been perfect this fall.

Forecast Discussion:

Another high pressure ridge has developed along the West Coast and will persist through this week, keeping skies sunny and temperatures above normal. We will see some gradual cooling later in the week as northerly flow ushers in some slightly cooler air, but otherwise it should be another uneventful week—great for outdoor activities and Embry-Riddle flight training!

Graphical Weather Forecast for the Prescott Area:

The figure above indicates the forecasted high in orange (with error bar denoting the range of ensemble forecast members), average high for this time of year in orange (dashed line), forecasted low in blue (with error bar), average low this time of year in blue (dashed line), and forecasted wind speed in purple. Note that the wind speed forecast is sustained wind (not gusts), and it is based on only one model (not an ensemble).
