Secretary of State Reagan Presenting Two LSTA Grant Check in Yavapai County on Wednesday

Secretary of State Michele Reagan will be coming to Yavapai County on Wednesday to present Library District Grants to local libraries.

Where: Yavapai County Administrative Services Building – 1015 Fair Street, Prescott, AZ 86305

PRESCOTT - Secretary of State Michele Reagan will present the Yavapai County Free Library District officials a grant for $33,550 to be used to encourage community engagement.

The grant money was made possible through the Arizona State Library with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The presentation is 9:00 a.m. at the Yavapai County Administrative Services Building.

The goal of this project is to provide a core collection of materials for the Paulden Public Library and make those materials available to public. Funds will be used to purchase, process, catalog, and circulate a core collection of materials; Community members will benefit because they will have a new library with a core collection of materials to circulate while also being able to have Yavapai Network member items delivered to their library.

CAMP VERDE - Secretary of State Michele Reagan will present the Camp Verde Community Library officials a grant for $20,350 to be used to encourage community engagement.

The grant money was made possible through the Arizona State Library with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS). The presentation is 12:00 p.m. at the Camp Verde Community Library.

The goal of this project is to make library services more accessible to Spanish-speaking families with young children ages 0-5, and equip parents to teach early literacy with confidence. Funds will be used to hire support staff, and to purchase bi-lingual programming and materials, interactive early learning stations, and marketing materials. The community will benefit as the library becomes a culturally-enriched learning-hub that meets the needs of the Hispanic / Latino community. Inclusive programming will serve as a model for making connections with another underserved population, the Yavapai Apache Nation. Spanish-speaking families will have the necessary resources to accomplish their children’s educational goals, and early literacy infrastructure will enhance patron experience.
