Sci-Fi Mini Fest Brings Rod Roddenberry to Prescott

Sci-Fi Mini Fest!

Special guest Rod Roddenberry scheduled to attend!

Filmmaker Rod Roddenberry, (son of Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry) will be in Prescott April 20th to screen his documentary film, Trek Nation, and have a Q&A after the screening!

This is just part of the Sci-Fi Mini Fest, April 19th – 21st.

Other special guests include:
Alan Dean Foster, who wrote the story for Star Trek the Motion Picture, is the un-credited writer for the original novel of Star Wards Episode IV: a New Hope and over 100 other books. Yavapai County is doing a Community Read of Splinter of the Minds Eye, a Star Wars sequel published prior to the release of Star Wars Episode V.

Sean Kenney, who played the "injured Fleet Captain Pike" in the original Star Trek series. He will be bring his book, Captain Pike Found Alive and signing autographs

David Frankham who acted in the original Star Trek series, The Outer Limits, Men of Space and Return of the Fly, to name a few.

Friday 4/19, 3:30pm "Where Are They?" Yavapai College Professor Jeb Bevers poses the question and looks at answers.

Friday 4/19 5:00pm David Frankham shares his experiences working in Hollywood starting with his turn as a "red shirt" on Star Trek and continuing through many other films and television shows.

Friday 4/19 6:30pm Filmmaker Jerry Chinn will present, Star Trek: The Motion Picture; Making the Enterprise Fly on the Big Screen. Jerry worked on the special effects team for the film which is believed to be the last major motion picture produced without cgi effects.

Friday 8:00pm Space Jam Dance in the Walraven Gym on the campus of Yavapai College! Presented by Endless Entertainment with professional DJ, DJ Smyles, glow sticks, huge screens and great music! (Tickets $5 in advance and $10 at the door)

Saturday 4/20 and 4/21 Most films $6 general admission or $3 for students and YC Employees. 
Trek Nation with Rod Roddenberry: $10 General Admission or $5 for students and YC Employees.
