October 22, 2018 – Cheryl Jean Watters, beloved daughter, sister, and aunt fell asleep for the last time and ascended heaven bound with her Lord and Savior.

Cheryl was born in Phoenix on December 1, 1958, but raised in Prescott, Arizona. She graduated from Prescott High School in 1976. After graduation, she moved to Phoenix where she began her lifetime work with youth in sports and education. Cheryl worked for the Boys & Girls Club of Phoenix and with the YMCA of North & West Valley. In 1990, she graduated from Grand Canyon University with a degree in Education. In 2000, she obtained her Master’s Degree in Education from Northern Arizona University. She was a dedicated teacher of Physical Education and History. Most of her teaching career was spent at Washington Elementary School District in Phoenix. Cheryl gave generously of her time volunteering for CASA, Habitat for Humanity and at Calvary Community Church.

Cheryl loved the great outdoors. She could often be found hiking, biking and camping with family and friends. Basically, any sport that could be done outside Cheryl would give it a try. Cheryl is survived by her parents Harold and Lorna Watters, sister Joanne (Rick) Mikkelson, Terri Watters, Lisa (Kenneth) Lain, so very many nieces and nephews, and her sweet four-legged companion that helped her through the pain of Pancreatic cancer - Rosie.

November 10 @ 11am - Calvary Community Church (12612 N Black Canyon Hwy, Phoenix, AZ 85029) - Cheryl's celebration of life will be held in the chapel with reception, food and fond memories to follow. Her last request was that money not be spent on her flowers but given to your favorite charity or pay it forward to someone in need.
