Prescott, Ariz., August 17, 2010 – The Yavapai Humane Society (YHS) today announced they net just over $40,000 from their recent fundraiser, The S. S. Critter Cruise, which was held July 31 at the Wyndham Garden Hotel in Prescott.
"We are thrilled this was such a successful event and we're so thankful to our sponsors and donors," said YHS Executive Director Ed Boks. "This is the most money ever raised at our annual YHS fundraiser and we hope this event raises the bar for future fundraisers so we can continue to save animals' lives"
In addition to funds raised through sponsorships, ticket sales, and auction items, YHS also raised more than $1,300 at the event to provide spays and neuters for low income residents of Yavapai County who own pit bulls. Any pit bull owner who is interested in applying for the low income spay/neuter program can download a low income spay neuter application online at www.yavapaihumane.org or call (928) 445-2666 for more information.
