The Governing Board of Chino Valley Unified School District, administration and staff were deeply saddened at the death of Bob Kaecker. He had been suffering with lung cancer for the past year; and despite the fact he remained a strong advocate for students and continued to perform his duties as a Board member until the day of his passing. Bob was first elected to the Board in 2002 and his current term was set to expire December 31, 2012.

School principals and teachers knew if there was a school event, Mr. Kaecker would be there. As one principal said, “We always knew we could count on him to show up and share in the success of our students.” Bob was a man of exceptional warmth and wisdom, and his loss leaves a void that will not be readily filled.

County School Superintendent Tim Carter will be announcing within the next week the timeline for nominations and appointment to the vacated seat. The person appointed to the position will serve for the remainder of the term.

Arrangements are currently being made by the family for a memorial service to be held on Thursday, July 28, 2011, 5:00 pm at the Chino Valley High School East Gymnasium.
