750 Coats Distributed to School Children

Dear Editor: The Yavapai County Education Service Agency (YCESA) was fortunate to be part of a partnership led by Steve Schmidt of the Prescott Noon Lions Club in distributing 58 huge boxes of coats (boys and girls, size 4 to 10+) to 16 school districts and charter schools throughout Yavapai County.

Thanks to the following sponsors for donating funds, services, or product - WalMart, Mandalay Homes, Target, Wells Fargo, Chase Bank, Foothills Bank, Engrained, and the Prescott Sunrise Lions Club for. The Prescott Noon Lioness Club also donated several boxes of scarfs, winter caps, gloves, and mittens… all hand made by club members.

The giveaway event was held at the Prescott Valley Library Auditorium. Thanks to all who participated and helped keep our kids warm this winter. Special thanks to YCESA staff members Jenn Nelson and Jenn Miller who coordinated the event.

Tim Carter,
Yavapai County School Superintendent
