First of all, make sure everything you prepare is cooked to the right temperature. This is one case when your best guess probably isn’t good enough. Use a food thermometer to be sure.
Beef, Pork, Veal, Lamb, Steaks, Roasts, Fish and Chops should be at a minimum internal temperature of 145º. Ground meat such as hamburger and egg dishes should be at 160º. Poultry requires an internal temperature of 165º.
Finally, make sure you don’t eat the raw cookie dough. It may contain uncooked eggs with bacteria that could make you ill.
