Scottsdale, AZ – Businessman Alex Meluskey announced today that he is suspending his campaign for the Unites States Senate, citing his campaign promise:
“I made it very clear from the outset that if I was not in a position to win this race, I would do what is best for our state, and for our country, and step aside before voting began”, he stated. “That is why effective today, I am suspending my campaign and therefore I am not presently a candidate for the U.S. Senate. I am keeping my promise to the people of Arizona in order to clear the way for the defeat of John McCain”.
In a video posted to his website, and shared via social media, he went on to add, “But make no mistake – Our fight moves forward. The political outcome of any one race matters much less than our work to restore moral, constitutional government – of the people, by the people, and for the people in this country.
I continue the fight to restore equal protection to the thousands of innocent children who continue to be destroyed every day by the abortionists and their political enablers; to protect marriage and the natural family; to protect our sacred Right to Keep and Bear Arms; for the FairTax, to put an end, once and for all, to the IRS and the income tax; to protect our national sovereignty, security, and borders; to stand with our friends and allies in the world, including Israel; And last, but certainly not least, I will continue to stand with, and fight for, our Veterans.”
He concluded his announcement with thanks. “Roberta and I are deeply grateful to every single one of our fantastic supporters, volunteers, and donors, and to our great staff. Your work has been exemplary, and builds towards a brighter American future.
Be encouraged, my friends. This is not an end, but another beginning, if we simply keep our eyes on God, and on the important goals we have set – and if we continue to stand together.
Now I’m going to ask all of you to do one more thing. In the words of Calvin Coolidge, I need you to remember that ‘Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence ... Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.’
Thank you. God bless you. God bless the Great State of Arizona. And may God once again bless the United States of America.”
