Update: Extended closure of State Route 89 in Prescott begins today at 10 a.m. Emergency ADOT Road Closure on Highway 89 Wednesday January 16 starting at 10 a.m. TO AT LEAST 5 p.m. in additiona to tonight's already schedule closure.Due to damage from yesterday’s rainfall, ADOT is closing Highway 89 in the vicinity of Prescott Regional Airport for emergency repairs starting at 10 a.m. on Wednesday January 16.Detours will be posted.Drivers should allow extra travel time and consider an alternate routeThe Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers who use State Route 89 in Prescott to plan for extended closures while urgently needed pavement repair work is underway.  Motorists should expect delays and use alternate routes while the following restrictions are in place:SR 89 will be closed in both directions from State Route 89A to Deep Well Ranch Road from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.  Detour:  Drivers can use Deep Well Ranch Road to access north- and southbound SR 89. All truck traffic will be diverted to Willow Creek Road.Flaggers will be in place directing traffic.
