Young women in foster care appreciate the stability it provides in their lives. But what happens when they turn 18 and are thrust out into the challenge of suddenly living on their own? That is where a ministry called Another Journey saw an opportunity to help these girls become a positive, contributing part of our community.
Another Journey creates strategic partnerships connecting at-risk teens and young adults with the tools, resources, and opportunities to be successful in Northern Arizona. The organization is raising funds to provide transitional housing for youth aging out of the foster care system. Amy Henwood of Another Journey says, “This housing will be vital in providing a safe and structured environment promoting accountability, community, and productivity.”
The group’s first fundraising event will be held at Rafter Eleven on June 2nd. The speaker will be Amberly Neese - a popular speaker, author, humorist and encourager. Her Joyful L!fe message of encouragement and inspiration is why she is known as the “Joy Lady.” Check-in is at 3pm, with the event starting at 4pm. The cost per person is $25 for event only or $40 package which includes a drink ticket, hors d’oeuvres and live music. Rafter Eleven is located at 2985 N. Centre Court in Prescott Valley.
