Kelli Ward Wins as Arizona Republican Party Chairman

27 January 2019
Today, in what some are calling an "upset" Dr. Kelli Ward was chosen as the new Republican Party Chairwoman in Arizona.

"I am honored to be your next Arizona Republican Party chairwoman," Ward posted on Facebook. "As chair, I am committed to working with you all to unify our party and enter 2020 at full strength so we ensure a resounding victory for President Donald J. Trump and Arizona Republicans down ballot. Our state’s future is bright!"

"Thank you, Jonathan Lines for your years of service & commitment to our party — may God bless your beautiful family & guide you in all of your future endeavors!"

Outgoing Chairman Jonathan Lines made the following statement after learning of his defeat,

"I want to thank the members of the Arizona Republican Party for the honor of serving as your chairman for the last two years. I am incredibly proud of our accomplishments this cycle, and I’ll never forget the amazing volunteers who make our party go. You achieved something truly special in 2018…the largest Republican turnout in Arizona midterm history.

"For those who supported me, I thank you for the faith that you placed in me, and I urge you to stay involved with our party. Our President and our party need all of our support.

"To Kelli Ward and her supporters, congratulations on a hard fought race. I am leaving you a party in very good financial and organizational shape. I am hopeful that you will strive for the unity that our party so desperately needs.

"Thank you again. God Bless Arizona, and God Bless America."
