Fraud Schemes Arrests

On 05/29/2019 Chino Valley Police Officers responded to a report of fraud at A 2 Z Home Center in Chino Valley. Officers learned 32 year old Kristina Craft of Chino Valley and 29 year old Mark Norris had bought numerous tools and wrote two separate checks totaling $2,277.68 for the items. One of the checks was written for over the amount the tools cost.

The employee attempted to contact Mark Norris to refund the money for the amount the check was written over for. When the customer was unable to contact Mark Norris at the number listed on his rewards card they became suspicious. The employee looked up Mark Norris and Kristina Craft on Facebook. She found Kristina was selling the items they had bought on Facebook Marketplace for cheaper than they had purchased them for.

On 05/30/2019 Officers were able to verify the checks had been written from an account with no money in it and other bad checks had be written against the account.

On 05/31/2019 a plain clothes Officer contacted Kristina Craft on Facebook and arranged to buy the generator. Upon meeting with Kristina the Officer verified Kristina was in possession of several of the items purchased with bad checks from A 2 Z Home Center.

With assistance from Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, uniformed officers moved in and took Mark Norris and Kristina Kraft into custody. Officers were granted consent from the homeowner where Kristina and Mark were staying to look for additional items. Officers were able to recover many of the items purchased from A 2 Z Home Center. Some of the items not recovered were as follows:

• Four 7’ pin casings
• Two black led motion lights
• Tylo entry project pack
• Ultimate jobsite back pack Milwaukee brand
• Hawk Bill folding knife
• 3/8” combo socket set

If anyone has information on these items please contact Chino Valley Police Department at (928) 636-4223.

During investigation officers also learned Mark Norris and Kristina Craft had written a bad check at Bonfire restaurant in Chino Valley on 05/28/2019 for the amount of $233.13.

Mark and Kristina were booked into the Yavapai County Jail for trafficking in stolen property, fraud schemes, and issuing a bad check
