STATE CAPITOL, PHOENIX – House Republican Members today voted unanimously in support of HCR 2033, a concurrent resolution supporting the Second Amendment. The resolution was introduced by Representative Frank Carroll (R-22) and cosponsored by all Republican Members of the Legislature.
In passing the resolution, Members reaffirmed their oath of office to support and defend the rights and liberties of the citizens of Arizona as guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States and Section 26 of the Constitution of Arizona, including the right of citizens to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by the Second Amendment to the Constitution of the United States.
“House Republicans are unafraid to stand up and defend Arizonans’ Second Amendment rights,” said Representative Carroll. “Democrats introduced a slew of typical radical bills this session that, if passed, would attack and infringe upon Second Amendment rights. But that’s not going to happen. Our united Republican Majority will continue to safeguard the natural inalienable right of self-defense in Arizona.”
“The Second Amendment is alive and well in Arizona,” added Carroll. “In an outpouring of support for the rights of fellow citizens, thousands of Arizonans turned out for the 7th Annual 2nd Amendment rally held on the Capitol Lawn recently.”
The resolution now goes to the State Senate for consideration.
