Prescott Man Arrested for Sexual Exploitation of a Minor

Tip came from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

On May 4th, 2015 the Prescott Police Department, investigations section received a “cyber tip” through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, regarding suspicious internet activity related to a social media account belonging to 38 year old Prescott resident Jared L. Harman.

The investigation revealed that Harman had been in possession of several images of child pornography. On June 10th, 2015 Prescott Police Detectives served a search warrant at the residence of Jared Harman and seized evidence to be processed in connection with the crime of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Harman was arrested and booked into the Yavapai County Jail for two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. The investigation will be ongoing pending the analysis of evidence seized during the search warrant. Further charges may result based on the examination of the evidence and other factors.

Working in cooperation with organizations such as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and Child Help, law enforcement officers strive to identify and aid children who may be in danger or in compromising situations. It is everyone’s job to protect our children and insure they are safe from predators that may choose to violate the sanctity of childhood.
