On October 19, 2015 Chino Valley Police arrested 49 year old Prescott Valley resident, Wayne C. Neumann on charges of Aggravated Assault, Kidnapping, Armed Robbery and Theft of a Motor Vehicle.
The incident began at approx.. 12:20 pm when a bank employee of Chase Bank left to go to lunch. When she approached her vehicle a male subject came from behind another vehicle with a knife. The suspect forced the victim into her car. The suspect drove around the bank interrogating the victim about money. He then drove around several other businesses during this interrogation period.
As soon as the victim felt she had an opportunity she was able to jump out the vehicle and run into a business located in the 2200 block of South S.R. 89. She requested the employees of the business call 911, which they did. The suspect turned around and attempted to find the victim by driving around in the parking lot of the businesses where she fled.
The suspect then left heading south on S.R. 89 toward Prescott. Chino Valley Police requested all local L.E. agencies be on the lookout for the victim’s car and suspect. Two alert YCSO Deputies near the airport observed the suspect and vehicle and were able to make a traffic stop and apprehend the suspect.
The victim was able to positively identify the suspect and provide a detail statement of the events and information. The suspect, Wayne Neumann was booked into YCSO Jail on several felony charges even though he has denied any involvement in the offenses.
