Long term Yavapai County resident and businessman, Judd Simmons, filed his nominating petitions to qualify for the August 2016 Republican Primary for the Office of County Assessor. Although only 252 signatures are required to qualify as a candidate, Judd delivered more than 2,000 signatures to the county election office. Over the past nine months Judd has crisscrossed the county interacting with residents as he spread the word of his campaign. His travels took him to gatherings, meetings, parades, and candidate events in Bagdad, Yarnell, Sedona, Cottonwood, Camp Verde, Prescott Valley, Cordes Lakes, Peeples Valley, Paulden, Mayer, Prescott, Chino Valley, Black Canyon City, and Dewey. When asked about his campaign schedule, Judd said: “It has been a great experience to meet with so many people from different walks of life. Everyday I am reminded of why our county is such a great place to live and raise a family.”
When asked why he decided to run for the Office of County Assessor, Judd said: “I believe our system of government is best served when the voters have a choice in selecting their elected officials. I have years of experience in real estate appraisal, an ability to work well with others, and a dedication to conservative Republican values. I am committed to restoring confidence to the Office of the County Assessor.” Judd went on to say: “I understand the importance of this elected position. A home can be the largest investment a person makes. Having it assessed properly and listening to the concerns of the citizens are my major goals.”
Judd moved to Groom Creek at the age of 10, attended Prescott High School, and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business from Northern Arizona University. In 1999, Judd founded Simmons Appraisal Services, Inc. and currently serves as its President. Judd is also a licensed Realtor with BloomTree Realty and a member of the Prescott Area Association of Realtors. Judd and Carrie, his wife of twenty years, have two sons, Nate and Zane.
