Conservative Prescott businessman David Stringer announced that he filed more than 1,100 signatures and will appear on the August 30th Republican Primary ballot for the State House of Representatives for Legislative District 1.

“I want to thank each and every person who circulated a petition for me and who signed a petition for me,” said Stringer, adding “this campaign is about freedom, and it is great to see so many wonderful people rallying to the cause.”

Stringer has owned and operated the Comfort Inn on White Spar Road in Prescott since 2004, and he has been active in local civic and political affairs as a Republican Precinct Committeeman and State Committeeman for the Yavapai County Republican Party.  He currently serves as co-chairman of the Yavapai County Republican Party Finance Committee.

In announcing his candidacy, Stringer promised to protect the taxpayers and families of the district, provide an effective voice for a district that largely consists of Yavapai County and the Anthem community in Maricopa County, defend the Arizona and U.S. Constitutions, and work to enhance Arizona’s economy, with special emphasis on rural counties. His legislative priorities include increased employment, fighting illegal immigration, expanded school choice, state pension reform, improved transportation infrastructure, and a balanced approach to economic development that protects rural Arizona’s lands and quality of life.
