The Mingus Union High School Board has a new member. Kirkland Mining Company holds community meeting.

A community meeting on the Kirkland Mining Company proposal is at 5:30 tonight.  The proposed pozzolan mine would be located on 76 acres near Skull Valley.  Pozzolans are used in cement and concrete production.  Concerns have been raised by Skull Valley residents, including Bridgette Pyken. Supervisor Rowle Simmons explains where Yavapai County plays a major part in this project. The meeting will be held at the Skull Valley School on Skull Valley Road.  It’s supposedly being organized by Congressman Paul Gosar’s office and representatives from the Bureau of Land Management won’t be present.

Share your comments on the proposed Prescott Airport Master Plan.  The City of Prescott is hosting an Open House meeting on the plan at the Prescott Valley Library on Civic Circle at 5 tonight.  This will be the second of 4 meetings that will involve public participation during the course of the project.  This meeting will cover the 4th chapter of the Master Plan, Facility Requirements.  This chapter identifies recommended facilities necessary to satisfy the 20 year forecast of aviation demand at the Prescott Airport.  During a recent appearance on YCCA’s Hammertime Show on KQNA 1130 AM and 99.9 and 95.5 FM, Councilman Steve Blair described what he feels needs to be done at the Airport. Blair says the time is right for improvements. Representatives from Delta Airport Consultants are scheduled to provide an overview of the Master Plan.  Regional officials, City of Prescott staff and Airport stakeholders will be on hand tonight to gather public comments and discuss airport benefits.
