billbridgeThe Arizona Department of Transportation will close Highway 89 from 8 tonight to 6 tomorrow morning. Crews will be working to shift traffic to the newly constructed east half of the new bridge. The shift will allow completion of the west half of the bridge. The closure will be in effect from the entrance to the VA Hospital just south of the Granite Creek Bridge to Industrial Way north of the bridge. Two way traffic will remain shifted in the northbound lanes until the bridge is complete. Motorists will experience a reduced speed limit of 45 miles per hour, narrow lanes and possible delays through the work zone. ADOT officials are advising drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, obey detour signs, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

The Dewey-Humboldt Board of Adjustment meets at 2 tomorrow afternoon. In January, the Board reviewed a video on powers and limitations and discussed the processes and procedures of a Board hearing, and there was a suggestion and discussion of having a mock hearing this month. The Board watched about 50 minutes of the video at that meeting and it was suggested members continue watching it on their own before it is discussed at the next meeting. The Board will also review the key points in the Planning and Zoning Handbook, discuss Arizona Rules of Civil Procedure, Evidence and Civil Appellate Procedure, as well as conduct and procedure of a public hearing. The meeting will be held in Council chambers on South Highway 69.

A Prescott Valley man has been arrested on alleged sexual conduct with a minor charges. Prescott Valley Police note in late February, 21 year old Anthony Zizza was investigated for an assault charge and during the investigation and subsequent arrest, an officer observed Zizza kissing a 15 year old girl. Sergeant Brandon Bonney explains more evidence surfaced after that:

During the investigation that followed, additional information was gathered alleging that Zizza had sexual encounters with 2 other females ages 16 and 14. Bonney adds charges involving one of those teen victims are still pending:

The suspect, who is already in the Camp Verde Jail on a prior charge, faces 2 counts of sexual conduct with a minor and 1 count of sexual abuse.
