Attempted Cottonwood Robbery at Taco Bell
An attempted Cottonwood robbery suspect is in custody, but the other is still at large. The incident occurred at the Taco Bell restaurant on Highway 89A just after 11 Sunday night. The employee handed food out to the suspects when the female driver sprayed pepper spray into his face. When the employee stepped to the side, the male passenger crawled across the driver and into the drive-thru window. He struck the victim several times with the butt of his gun. The suspect was unable to get any money so he fled back out the same window before the driver took off. Cottonwood Police Sergeant Monica Kuhlt explains the male suspect was located at about 10:30 Tuesday night. Kuhlt says the driver, 36 year old Cottonwood resident Tia Stevens hasn’t been located yet. Anyone who has information on Stevens’ whereabouts is asked to call Cottonwood Police at (928) 649-1397 or Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232.
