30 January 2018
In Arizona, the roadwork never stops.

Roundabout on Hwy 89

Concrete work and road widening operations are moving forward on Highway 89 in Prescott.  Crews are starting installation of new concrete curb and gutter near the future roundabout and entry to the Phippen Museum this week.  Crews are also hauling and placing base course material along Highway 89 between the 89A and Pioneer Parkway Interchange and Granite Dells.  Now that installation of the storm drain near the future roundabout is complete, crews will be working on the catch basin near the Phippen Museum this week.  One lane of traffic will be open in both directions at all times.  This project is scheduled for completion sometime this spring.

$2K scholarships are being offered for high school students and undergraduates who are studying to be a teacher.  The Gardner Family Teacher Scholarship is available to qualified applicants who plan on teaching in a Kindergarten through 12th Grade position in Yavapai County.  In addition to high school students and undergraduates, the scholarship is available to displaced teachers who need additional coursework to stay in their positions. Education Scholarship Endowment of Yavapai County representatives say a person’s potential to be a highly successful classroom teacher is the primary consideration when awarding this scholarship. Financial need may be another factor.  Application forms are available at  The deadline for applications is midnight on March 5th.
