Prescott Council to consider Airport rehab.

The Prescott City Council meets at 3 this afternoon to consider a nearly 6 million dollar grant for the Prescott Airport.  According to City Manager Michael Lamar, one of the airport runways has very old and severely deteriorated asphalt pavement.  The last pavement rehabilitation was done over 14 years ago.   Lamar says the existing condition of the pavement generates large amounts of debris that can severely damage aircraft operating on the runway.  A Federal Aviation Administration grant that will pay for most of this project is scheduled to be received on June 20th.  With City Council approval, Fann Contracting will perform night work at the Airport.  Council’s voting session will be held at City Hall on South Cortez Street.
