Safe Routes to School Project upgrade

The Prescott City Council meets at 3 tomorrow afternoon to consider a change to an agreement with ADOT.  According to City Manager Michael Lamar, the City and ADOT entered into the agreement in 2013 for a Safe Routes to School project.  This agreement involves improvements on Coronado Avenue near Lincoln School.  The change to the agreement would increase Federal Grant funding from 286 to 622 thousand dollars.  A required City match of 90 thousand dollars would cover the updated cost of the project.  The Council meeting will be held at City Hall on South Cortez Street.  At 1, Council will meet in a closed session to conduct reviews of the City Manager, City Clerk and City Attorney.

A Prescott Valley man is facing charges in La Paz County.  In April, the La Paz County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Unit was notified of an alleged sexual relationship between a former student and a former teacher at Salome High School.  That investigation resulted in an arrest warrant, which was obtained through the La Paz County, Salome Justice Court 5th Precinct.  Michael O’Boyle has been arrested in Prescott Valley and booked into the Camp Verde Jail.  A search warrant has been executed at O’Boyle’s home with the help of the Prescott Valley Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Unit.  He’s facing 16 counts of sexual conduct with a minor.
