Bill's Newscast: Road Construction & College Board Retreat

13 February 2017
I-17 Delays likely due to Table Mesa Road paving.

Watch for delays if you’ll be traveling on I-17 this week. ADOT crews are scheduled to pave Table Mesa Road at the I-17 overpass from 7 am to 5 pm today through Thursday. The paving operations will require 1 lane to be closed during work hours and drivers will be guided through the work zone with flaggers. This work at the bridge is part of a larger project currently underway on I-17 that includes pavement resurfacing, guardrail improvements and railing replacement on 8 bridges. ADOT crews are also scheduled to work overnight from 6 Thursday night to 6:30 Friday morning.

The Yavapai College District Governing Board will be doing double duty as it meets for a retreat and a voting session this week. Today’s retreat is being held at the Prescott Resort on Highway 69. This afternoon’s discussion topics include review of the Governing Board members’ roles and responsibilities. At 1 tomorrow afternoon, the Board will discuss the retreat and will consider proposed tuition and fees for the 2017-18 school year. College President Penny Wills is scheduled to give an update on the candidate search for a new Vice-President for Community Relations while Ron Liss, Vice-President for Instruction and Student Development will give an update on the latest enrollment news for this Spring. The Yavapai College Governing Board meeting will be held in the Rock House on the Prescott campus on Sheldon Street.
