Roughrider Soccer Team Faces Pima Community College in Epic Match

Pima continues to be a tough challenge for the Roughriders. 

The #4 ranked Roughrider soccer team traveled to Tucson on Tuesday for an epic match against #3 ranked Pima Community College. At the end of the day, both teams ended up tied, 1-1 after two overtimes. Yavapai is now 7-1-1 overall and 5-1-1 in the ACCAC. Pima is 6-0-2 on the year.

The last time that these two teams played each other being ranked so high was in 2002 when YC was #1 and Pima was #2. They played in the NJCAA Region I Championship match at Ken Lindley Field. YC won the game in a shootout, the final score was 2-1. Yavapai won the National Title that same year. 

Yavapai continues conference action on Thursday at Mesa Community College. The match will begin at 7:00 PM.
