It was 110 minutes of intense play, and at the end, both teams remained scoreless.

The Roughrider soccer team traveled down to Phoenix College Tuesday afternoon and battled to a 0-0 double overtime tie. It is the 8th time in Roughrider history that a YC match has ended in a scoreless tie and the 28th tie all-time. Both teams move to a 3-1-1 overall and conference record.

Roughrider goalkeeper Justin Motzkus played all 110 minutes to record the shutout.

Yavapai will play their Prescott home opener on Thursday, September 8th entertaining the Cougars from South Mountain Community College at Ken Lindley Field. On Saturday, YC takes a break from ACCAC action as they host College of the Desert, CA at Ken Lindley Field. Both matches will start at 6:00 PM.

In the latest NJCAA poll, the Roughriders nab the #8 ranking. Pima Community College is ranked #9; Phoenix College is #11; and Arizona Western is #12. http://www.njcaa.org/sports/msoc/2016-17/div1/polls
