Suns to donate 300 backpacks full of supplies to Humboldt Unified, Prescott Unified and Chino Valley Unified school districts
PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. – With the new school year approaching, the Northern Arizona Suns announced plans Friday to aid students and their families across three school districts in the quad-city area.
The NAZ Suns are donating 300 total backpacks to Humboldt Unified, Prescott Unified and Chino Valley Unified school districts. Exactly 100 backpacks will be distributed to each district that will include a spiral notebook, pocket folder, pencils, eraser, crayons and pencil case.
The backpacks and supplies donated by the team will be distributed to each school district to help families in need. Over the next couple of weeks, the Northern Arizona Suns front office and the team’s mascot, Buckets, will deliver the donations to schools and classrooms across each district.
To kick off the effort, the NAZ Suns will donate 100 backpacks with supplies at “Firefighter Angel Fill the Bus” event at the Prescott Club at Stoneridge (1601 N. Bluff Top Drive) on Monday, July 23, at 10 a.m.
All donations at the “Fill the Bus” event will be given away to military and families in need on Wednesday, August 1, at their district office’s cafeteria (6411 N. Robert Rd.). The NAZ Suns will be in attendance to help support the initiative beginning at 9 a.m.
Announcements regarding donations to Prescott Unified and Chino Valley Unified school districts will be released in media advisories in the coming weeks.
